Free For All York Minster
We made it to York this week on the Free For All tour for a day in the Chapter House of York Minster. A year six class from Naburn Primary School caught the bus in to take part in the drama workshops. Helping Dan and Mike was Kim Crawford from local schools trust YOYO and Claudia – on placement with St Michael le Belfrey (Mike’s old church!)
The acoustics in the Chapter House were stunning, and the spotlights really made the performance come to life. The children from Naburn learnt about England’s sweet tooth and greed, but also about the sacrifices some were prepared to make to see the “wicked Slave Trade ended!”
Year six pupil Sam played a convincing Tarleton, while Lauren brought Wilberforce back to life with her performance! Well done you two! We had an audience made up from parents and tourists in the Minster who showed their appreciation to the children with a huge round of applause. A BIG thank you goes to YOYO who helped us set up this event.
