Free For All in Oxford
Today Free For All visited St Christopher's Primary, a charming school just off the Cowley road in Oxford. Surprisingly there was a large ethnic mix in the school, which made the topic of the Slave Trade an interesting one to look at. How would Sudanese, Pakistani or Bulgarian children view this part of British history? We were also joined by Thames ITV, who filmed us throughout and then got interviews from the children and Mike North represented us. We are getting used to having cameras there now and it actually gives the children an extra incentive to
perform. In due course we will link to this footage on our multimedia section of the Free For All website. The children entered enthusiastically into the workshops and the performance and one little boy from Bulgaria exclaimed. "It was not right to treat people as slaves" Afterwards we were pushed for time to do a debrief but the interviewer for Thames, Andrea Benfield, had done some of the work for us by interviewing the children throughout the day. Check out some photos from the day from our Photo Gallery in the side bar.
