Free For All at Greenbelt 07
From Tajik Christian break-dancers in the CMS tent to singing along with thebandwithnoname, Delirious, Billy Bragg and Iain Archer on the main stage.
The weather was incredible sun, sun and more sun and there seemed to be more choice of good food than I can remember in recent years at Greenbelt. In between the action packed programme we had the small job of rehearsing 30 or so children to perform on the main arena stage on Monday. On Saturday and Sunday we met for 2 hours in the CMS tent and then on Monday we managed to rehearse in the main stage space before our performance at 1 30pm. Parents and friends spread themselves on the grass as the slave ship weaved it's way through to the
main stage where the landing and capture of Africans to be taken off for the middle passage took place.
The group of young people, who had not met each other before this weekend worked together with the Free For All team and each other like one family and there were some great performances from Susannah, Wilberforce, Tarleton and the Captain's heavies to name only a few. Check out the photos on the CMS flickr, in our gallery and on the Greenbelt site too. A great weekend had by all and one which has left us all breathing easy.
