Rivelin Primary School in Sheffield made Free For All come alive this week. 23 children took part in drama workshops to understand about the once secret history of the Slave Trade, now being proclaimed for all to hear.
Rehearsals took place in the school on Wednesday, and pupils arrived at the cathedral on Thursday afternoon to run through the play and prepare costumes.
The audience filled up with family and friends of the cast, and we performed the full version at 6pm. Although a smaller week than we had hoped for, the children more than made up for it. Great performances from Wilberforce and Tarleton, along with Susannah and the Captain's heavies.
School has now finished for the Summer, so we look forward to Moggerhanger next Saturday (a one off special) and then it's on to Greenbelt Christian Arts Festival for one of the biggest productions of the tour.
